The relevance of the presented study is determined by the fact that in the modern conditions of the post-industrial era, management practice has undergone significant changes, requiring an adequate model description. The purpose of the presented work is a model description of the development of modern management that meets the realities of managing socio-economic systems in the post-industrial era. The scientific novelty of the results lies in the fact that, based on the study of the essence and content of the models of generations M1.0, M2.0 and M3.0 formed in the 20th century, as a result of identifying significant features, the management model M4.0 is substantiated, adequately reflecting the management processes in modern conditions of post-industrial development in at least three directions: objectives of activities in a market environment; the nature of making management decisions; development of organizational structures. It is shown that in terms of the objectives of activities in the market environment in the M4.0 model, it is necessary not only to continue the company’s competitive struggle in existing markets, but also to create segments of new, previously non-existent markets, with increasing market demand. In terms of making management decisions, the M4.0 model emphasizes the interest of companies in finding, retaining and developing talented employees who are capable of making management decisions in emerging non-standard development situations when automated systems are not capable of developing management decisions. In terms of developing organizational structures, the M4.0 model considers a combination of holacratic management for new market segments while maintaining the overall centralization of management of key resources. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of their use for further description of management development models reflecting the realities of economic development in the post-industrial era.
